Precision Inline Aggregate Blending

The Aggregate Blending System of the Advantage 250™ Concrete Batch Plant

The Advantage 250™ aggregate blending system represents a major advancement in ready mix plant technology, combining precision material control with continuous inline blending to produce more consistent, higher-quality ready mixed concrete. Using a precision-controlled inline process, the system blends graded aggregates together in carefully layered “ribboned” formations as materials move through the batching cycle. Available in configurations with 3, 4, or more aggregate bins, the system can be tailored to meet the production demands of virtually any ready mix operation.

Each aggregate bin feeds onto its own dedicated weigh belt, allowing every material to be measured continuously and accurately in real time before reaching the collecting conveyor. Unlike traditional repose-style ready mix plants that batch aggregates individually into a central weigh hopper one material at a time, the Advantage 250™ simultaneously weighs all aggregates, and blends them, in a continuous flow process. This dramatically improves batching efficiency while also enhancing material consistency throughout the entire production cycle.

As aggregate from Bin #1 moves beneath Bin #2, additional material is layered evenly across the moving stream. The process continues through each successive bin until the final layer — typically moistened sand — encapsulates the coarser aggregates below. This engineered layering effect is one of the key innovations behind the Advantage 250™ system. The sand helps suppress airborne dust, reduces material separation, and maintains a densely blended aggregate profile as materials travel through the plant. The result is cleaner operation, reduced dust emissions, quieter batching, and a more uniform aggregate blend entering the mixer truck.

Once blended, the aggregates discharge onto the transfer conveyor and move to the holding hopper, where the entire blended mass is verified by precision load cells before loading. Because materials arrive already blended and uniformly distributed, the system minimizes the segregation and inconsistency commonly associated with conventional ready mix plants and repose batching systems. Instead of individual piles of stone and sand entering the mixer separately, the Advantage 250™ delivers a balanced, homogeneous aggregate structure from the very beginning of the batching process.

For ready mix producers, this advanced inline aggregate blending technology delivers measurable advantages in both production efficiency and concrete quality. Reduced segregation means fewer voids, tighter aggregate packing, improved workability, and more consistent finished concrete from load to load. The system also reduces wasted motion and batching delays, helping ready mix plants achieve production rates up to 250 cubic yards per hour while maintaining exceptional mix consistency.

From the weigh belts to the ribboned aggregate layering process, every aspect of the Advantage 250™ aggregate blending system reflects CMQ Engineering’s commitment to innovation, detailed engineering, and smarter ready mix plant design. The result is a batching system engineered not only for speed, but for producing superior ready mixed concrete with greater consistency, efficiency, and reliability — batch after batch.
